The characters in our fairy tales
What is a fairytale character?
Children’s story characters are fictional characters who appear in fairy tales, legends and myths intended for children. They can be human, animal or fantastic, and often have special characteristics or superhuman powers.
Our characters come from stories of the past, the present or the imaginations of our authors.
Children’s storybook characters are often used to teach children values or life lessons, or to offer them a means of escaping into an imaginary world. Among the best-known children’s story characters are Little Red Riding Hood, the Wolf, Cinderella, Puss in Boots, Tom Thumb, Pinocchio and many others.
